New to Yorkshire Business Market this year is a conference we’ve themed ‘Making Yorkshire a Powerhouse’, reflecting the size, scale and potential of the nation’s biggest County.
It’s an opportunity for Yorkshire business leaders and those with an interest in the economy of Yorkshire to discuss and debate a range of topics effecting their own individual business performance and the overall economy of the County.
A forum style format will provide our guest speakers with a platform on which to present their thoughts, ideas and opinions in a TED Talk style. The audience will be invited to contribute to the debate by sharing their challenges, experience and opinions through a Q&A and open discussion throughout.
This is an opportunity for attendees to find ideas and opportunities, make important new contacts, learn and contribute to a debate designed to help improve individual business performance and the overall economic success of Yorkshire in a changing world.

Our speakers will each provide an address intended to inform, inspire or motivate delegates and, importantly, stimulate questions and open discussion which will be moderated by Jean MacQuarrie.
The idea of the conference is to share experiences and ideas to help individuals and the Yorkshire economy generally to benefit from solutions to common problems.
Michelle Mook: Will explain how employee engagement supports business success. Employee Engagement has been identified as one of the biggest challenges for small to medium sized business and yet it is key to the growth of our economy.
Harry Bliss: Harry will introduce the importance of mental wellbeing to businesses, as well as offering the latest cutting-edge advice on how to optimise mental health and the financial benefits in the workplace.
Jon Geldart: Jon will be speaking on the Institute of Directors and its role in supporting business directors to be better directors as well as touching on his experience of working in and with China for over 10 years.
Matt Hopkinson: Matt will look at what successful big global corporations are doing and what we can learn and implement into our business practices to help us make Yorkshire the Powerhouse of the North.
Andy Davidson: Andy will give an overview of the Northern Powerhouse concept and progress to date, why a strong Northern Powerhouse is important to Yorkshire and how business can get involved.
Jonathan Kattenberg: Jonathan provides an interactive and thought-provoking talk on what influences the decisions we make, and asks are we truly in control of our destiny in every way?

The conference will comprise two sessions, one in the morning and one in the afternoon, with three guest speakers for both and a vibrant Q&A and open discussion for all.
Starting at 10.00 and finishing at 16.00, there will be a break for lunch between 12.00 and 14.00 when they can network with other delegates or visit the YBM19 exhibition.

Places are strictly limited and will be allocated on a first come, first served basis. Early booking to secure a seat is recommended. Tickets are now FREE and does not include lunch which can be taken in the main event dining area where you will also have access to the exhibition. Delegates are also free to stay on at the Networking Social event which rounds off the day.
